Norm retired from the business world ten years ago and has taken up lapidary work. Betsy has been in the art field for most of her adult life, having taught drawing and painting for over 45 years and been a practicing painter and freelance writer for art and craft magazines for over twenty years. Their interest in jewelry-making spans forty years, although they had to take a long “vacation” from it while working and raising their two children. Betsy does most of the metal work, while Norm cuts and polishes the beautiful semiprecious stones used in their work. They both teach jewelry-making at the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, in Young Harris, GA each fall season. Stone Soup
