I have been in love with beautiful fabrics always. Playing dress up continues to fascinate and bring me pleasure.
My love for colorful fabric led me to the process of dying and painting my own. I use only natural fibers including hemp, cotton, linen, bamboo and silk. I am always trying out new fabrics. Different fibers take the dyes in different ways and the drape and hand of a piece of fabric is huge part of the garment design. Every piece is dyed individually. I dye the fabric before cutting any garment pieces. I love making timeless, unstructured raiments that look and feel beautiful and sensual. I have done numerous art shows in the Midwest. I was honored as Best of Show at the 2003 Wichita Art Fair and won the Outstanding Costumer award at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival in 1995. Many of my patrons continue to ad to their Silken Goddess collection. I have a great passion for my art and love to share my pretties with everyone. What a pleasure when someone slips a delicious silk caftan over their head, looks in the mirror and smiles. I am happy. Silken Goddess
