Ever since I can remember, I've had the gift of loving art and the creative process with a passion that always keeps me going. This instilled in me a great respect for techniques and eagerness to acquire skills and hone my talents as I kept finding more mediums I love. From drawing and painting to sculpture, art glass and jewelry the possibilities always have excited me. Growing up, a lot came naturally as I drew, sewed, and made jewelry but I took as many art classes as I could. I started drawing portraits around the age of thirteen. When people started paying me, I thought I was onto something. Also around that time my mom, a gifted artist in her own right, was working as a stained glass artists. Hence the love for art glass. She taught me well. I majored in visual arts at Southeast Missouri State with special interest in painting and sculpture and work with my mom in the stained glass studio intermittently. My love for glass grew as I learned what great stuff she could do. From there, I moved to Seattle for a few years to learn glassblowing, lampworking, and jewelry techniques such as silversmithing at Pratt School of Fine Art. Currently I reside in St. Peters where I create art glass jewelry, paint murals and portraits, and design stained glass windows. Niko Art Glass Jewelry
