I am a life-long resident of the St. Louis Metropolitan area. I am a converted Business Administration major and spent my early adult career as a City Planner in Illinois, after military service and a tour of duty in Vietnam. My interests at that time were are and photography. I left city government and went back to college to pursue a degree in art.

I hold a Bachelors of Science degree from Southern Illinois University in Art Education. I also have a Masters of Science degree from Fontbonne University and a Doctorate in Education Administration from St. Louis University. I began my teaching career in 1982 at Webster Groves High School in St. Louis County where I teach art and photography. I have been chairman of the art department since 1984.

My primary concentration is in black and white photography. Pen & ink drawing, and air brush. I find black and white photography to me more artistic and expressive. I find pen and ink to be clean and precise. When combined with airbrush, I have developed my own unique and personal style of art production.

My black and white photography is historical and architectural. It covers landmarks, views, and familiar scenes of St. Louis. Some of it dates back to the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, reflecting how things were. I also shoot nature and botanical subjects. Some of my work deals with vintage western scenes from vintage negatives. LeeStone's is also available to shoot weddings in black and white, a very dramatic, artistic, and unique way to record wedding ceremonies. I do hand coloring on some of my photographs for that added effect, as well as toning.

An exhibition of my photography features 11" x 14" prints produced i my darkroom on various kinds of paper. My interest in the history of the metropolitan area and the need to preserve and learn from the past dominates my lens.
