My adventure in gourds started in 2005 with a trip to my favorite gift shop at the Lake of the Ozarks, an eclectic little shop on business 54. A bowl sitting on a shelf caught my eye and When working with gourds there are not two alike. Even when they are the same type of gourd the physical shape, color, and thickness are never the same. How they accept stain and color vary on the shell of the gourd. Some are more waxy and others are poris. So this makes a big difference in the color variations in the end product. So no matter how many times I may repeat a pattern, no gourd will ever look like one another. They are truly one of a kind. Lamps by Joanna
