Kay Adams started her full time career in art late in life. After studies in fine art in college she received several commissions for murals and portraits. Although she was fairly successful at painting, her first love was sculpture. So she returned to school and immersed herself in the studies of ceramics. That pursuit was put on Karoz Fine Silver

hold by a series of moves from country living to a St. Louis City suburb, then to San Antonio and back to St. Louis again. It was during her stay in San Antonio that she was introduced to Precious Metal Clay. This new medium, having the same properties as earthen clay, turned out to be perfect for the limited space of her present studio. She has found success in the new field, selling her work at local shows and fulfilling commissions. She is currently studying metalsmithing for jewelry with Kevin Lin at the St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley. The skills she learns with Mr. Lin will be incorporated into her use of PMC.
