Hilary Hitchcock is fascinated by things that are vanishing. With her camera, she tries to capture the point where past regularities begin to disappear from daily sight. She is especially fond of documenting the design sensibility of days gone by and is enamored of rural Midwestern landscapes. With a photographer for a grandfather and a painter for a grandmother, she has been surrounded by rich visual imagery for most of her life. It was only a few years ago, however, when she purchased her first digital camera, that she began to take a serious interest in the art of photography. Since that time, her work has appeared on the covers of several publications, and in the online e-zine The Commonspace. Recently she has broadened her interest in photography beyond digital and has been shooting Polaroids and medium format film with toy cameras. Hilary Hitchcock
