When I was in the seventh grade, I decided to become an art teacher so that I could also be an artist. Even though my art teacher during that school year only taught for one year, I credit Mr. Zeek Taylor as a major influence on that decision. I was raised in Mountain Grove, MO where I attended all 13 years in that school system. I earned a BA Degree in Art from McPherson College in McPherson, KS, and then completed the teacher certification requirements from Southwest Missouri State University (now MSU). For 25 years I taught K-12 art and middle school art in three Missouri public school systems: Norwood, Mountain Grove, and Willow Springs. After earning an MS Degree in Education with an emphasis in Art from Southwest Baptist University, I began teaching Intro to Art at SBU’s satellite school in Mtn. View, MO. I also taught night courses for MSU in Mountain Grove and Drury University in Licking. After retiring from public school teaching in 2006, my husband and I moved to Aldrich, MO to be near Stockton Lake. I then became an adjunct instructor on the main campus of SBU in Bolivar, where I continue to teach Intro to Art, Design, and Printmaking. All of my prints are created in the Turkey Creek Studio located on our property which borders the Core of Engineers land that surrounds the Turkey Creek Arm of Stockton Lake.
