A consistent factor in this artist’s work is contrast. She finds contrasting the art elements (line, shape, value, color and texture) and subject matter fundamental to creating intriguing and beautiful art. Her commissioned work pictures the people, places and things most loved by those individuals who choose her as their artist. Collaborating to create meaningful and intimate art for people is a real joy. She loves the adventure and interaction that comes from painting plein air. The entire process is a nice contrast to the intellectual approach generally required by her commissioned work. Carla’s heritage in the mountains of Montana has made her very appreciative of the beautiful world we live in.
